Poor Baby.
Today Ellie got her shots, I was very proud of her, she cried but overall she was very brave and didn't cry for long. She then slept most of the rest of the day.
Her stats are: Height 23 1/2 inches Weight 11 pounds 6.5 ounces.
Doctor Davis says she is doing great!!

This blog is called yarnfarm, right?

Just a quick break from the Ellie pictures. The store is getting ready for it's "Season". There was a super fun spinning class last weekend, and we found out Brandie is a natural spinner. I have added a sales portal at the bottom of the blog which takes you to our online store. You can see all the yarns we sell, including some that Mom dyed herself. And you can sign up for our store email list by putting your email into the "Join Our Mailing List" spot. Be sure to tell a friend.

Look what I got!!
I also bought a Tabby Cats Silk Large Project bag, but these skeins of yarn are so large they don't fit in the bag. I love the colors and the embroidered details. I know I'll get to use it soon!

We are now on Etsy!!
Knu spent an entire Sunday dying sock yarns. She came up with some BEAUTIFUL colorways. And they are so creative with the different names too! Like "Off to the Emerald City", "Pink Elephant" and "Echo Park". With all of the beautiful colors they came up with, we are going to list them on Etsy! Woodstock sold only 3 hours after being listed!

We love Judith!!
Only something really special could come in a package like this.
Knu and I listened to Judith MacKenzie McCuin when we went to the Black Sheep Show in Eugene last year, and we have been hooked ever since. She was the main wool judge and her story-telling painted the most vivid pictures in your mind. It didn't take Knu long to find out that Judith had her own line of dying kits and yarns, so she placed an order.
And best of all...
This is Judith's line of Buffalo yarn called Buffalo Gals, and it is dreamy!! You can read a review of this yarn, but beware, you'll want it! The skein is so soft, and feels lighter than air, and the colors are so deep and striking.

A new batch of kids are being born.

So far 4 baby goats have been born, and lucky Knu they are all girls!! Which is a big change from last year when only 2 out of 10 were girls. This is Gia, she is the only one with color. Gia looks to me like she was dipped in an ink well and God used her one foot and that tuff of hair on her head as a handle. TOO CUTE!! I can't wait to see the yarn made from her fleece.

Look at what Lynn Hildebrandt, a local Navasota resident, wrote about us in our newspaper:
"We have many art forms represented within Grimes County. One of our most interesting talents is on display amongst the antiques for sale at the new business W.C. Mercantile, which is owned by Petra Wright and Stephanie Cunningham. Mohair from locally raised Angora goats is homespun into yarn on the premises as Petra and her daughter Stephanie skillfully work their spinning wheels. This yarn is then hand-dyed and packaged for sale. Other fibers are also spun into colorful skeins which are ready for purchase. Everyone will take delight in visiting this new Navasota attraction and getting to know Petra and Stephanie!
W.C. Mercantile offers booth rentals at a very reasonable rate. Local artists and craftsmen are welcome to share the space in this store. What an exciting place this will become as our local talents gather there to display their works and share their skills! By joining in a co-op such as this, an artist can keep his/her day job and still display their art works for sale without having to be present all the time. Artists' creations are often one of a kind, and are the future priceless treasures of this world!"
We only met her for a few minutes. I can't believe what wonderful things she wrote, how nice!!

Broken Windows.
I get a phone call on my way home from work the other night and its the Navasota Police. They said that my building has had a window pane crash onto the ground and that it could have killed someone. So I asked, did anyone get hurt? And the answer was, NO, but they could have. I felt pretty bad. Now I am looking into replacing the windows upstairs. I've got shopping to do!!

Its so beautiful!
Mom said, "If I like it, then everyone is going to like it too!" She wasn't kidding. I had this listed on eBay for less than a week, and only 16 people even viewed it before someone bought all 10 skeins of this lovely colorway. Its my favorite right now also. This is the Malabrigo Chunky in "Snow Bird". So guess what...I ordered more!
